Þann 1. júní síðastliðinn tóku gildi svokölluð U-vottorð í stað E-vottorða. Nýja U-2 vottorðið kemur í stað gamla E-303 vottorðsins.

Nú verða atvinnuleysisbætur greiddar inn á íslenskan bankareikning atvinnuleitanda meðan á atvinnuleit erlendis með U-2 vottorði stendur, að því tilskyldu að Vinnumálastofnun berst staðfesting þess að einstaklingur hafi skráð sig á vinnumiðlunarskrifstofu í viðkomandi landi innan 7 daga frá útgáfu vottorðsins.

Þá skal einnig halda áfram að staðfesta atvinnuleit með sama hætti og áður, milli 20. - 25. dags hvers mánaðar undir „Mínum síðum“ á heimasíðu Vinnumálastofnunnar (www.vmst.is).

New certificates for employment search in EEA countries

On June 1, U-certificates replaced E-certificates. The new U-2 certificate replaces the old E-303.

Now unemployment benefits will be paid to Icelandic bank account, while a jobseeker is looking for work in EEA country with U-2 certificate, provided that the Directorate of Labour in Iceland receives a confirmation that the jobseeker has signed up at an employment office within 7 days of issuing the certificate.

A jobseeker must also continue to verify the employment search the same way as before, between the 20th – 25th day of each month under "Mínar síður" on the website of the Directorate of Labour (www.vmst.is).
