The labour market in August 2017

Registered unemployment was 1,9% in August 2017 or up with 0,1 from July 2017 and down with 0,1 from August in 2016.

There were in average 3.519 unemployed in August 2017 or up with 5 from July 2017.

Unemployment by gender:

The unemployment by men was 1,6 in August 2017, or up with 0,1 from July 2017.  The unemployment by women was 2,3% in August 2017 or up from 2,2% in July 2017.

The unemployment by young people:

There were 420 young, aged 18-24 years unemployed in August 2017 or down from 427 in July 2017.

The long term unemployed:

There were 847 long term unemployed (over 1 year) in August 2017, or up with 11 from July 2017.

Open vacancies:

There were 304 new incoming open vacancies in August 2017, but in July 2017 there were 182 new incoming open vacancies.

Foreign workers:

There were in total 99 work permits (all types of work permits) issued in August 2017 but 161 in July 2017. There were 36 foreign service companies registered to Directorate of Labour in August 2017.

These foreign service companies employed 488 workers.

There were 28 Temporary-work agencies registered to Directorate of Labour in August 2017.

These Temporary-work agencies hired out 1.928 workers in August 2017.

The unemployment forecast for September 2017:

It is expected that the unemployment in September 2017 will decrease and be between 1,7% and 1,9%.
