The labour market in July 2018

Registered unemployment was 2,2% in July 2018 or up from 2,1% in June 2018 and up from 1,8% in July 2017.   There were in average 4.169 unemployed in July 2018 or up with 103 from June 2018.

 

Unemployment by gender:

The unemployment by men was 2,0% in July 2018, or up from 1,9% in June 2018.  The unemployment by women was 2,4% in July 2018 or up from 2,3% in June 2018.

 

The unemployment by young people:

There were 508 young, aged 18-24 years unemployed in July 2018 or down from 509 in June 2018.

 

The long term unemployed:

There were 890 long term unemployed (over 1 year) in July 2018, or up from 876 in June 2018.

Open vacancies:

There were 151 new incoming open vacancies in July 2018 or up from 143 new incoming open vacancies in June 2018.

Foreign workers:

There were in total 203 work permits (all types of work permits) issued in July 2018 but 142 in June 2018. There were 32 foreign service companies registered to Directorate of Labour in July 2018. These foreign service companies employed 206 workers in July 2018.

There were 26 Temporary-work agencies registered to Directorate of Labour in July 2018.

These Temporary-work agencies hired out 1.584 workers in July 2018.

The unemployment forecast for August 2018:

It is expected that the unemployment in August 2018 will be similar to the unemployment in July 2018 and be between 2,0% and 2,2%.
