The labour market in March 2019

Registered unemployment was 3,2% in March 2019 or up from 3,1% in February 2019 and up from 2,4% in March 2018.  There were in average 5.962 unemployed in March 2019 or up with 272 from February 2019.

Unemployment by gender:
The unemployment by men was 3,2% in March 2019, or up from 3,1% in February 2019.  The unemployment by women was 3,3% in March 2019 or up from 3,2% in February 2019.

The unemployment by young people:
There were 884 young, aged 18-24 years unemployed in March 2019 or up from 812 in February 2019.

The long term unemployed:
There were 1.163 long term unemployed (over 1 year) in March 2019, or up from 1.137 in february 2019.

Open vacancies:
There were 185 new incoming open vacancies in March 2019 or up from 149 new incoming open vacancies in February 2019.

Foreign workers:
There were in total 184 work permits (all types of work permits) issued in March 2019 or down from 185 in February 2019.  There were 20 foreign service companies registered to Directorate of Labour in March 2019.  These foreign service companies employed 111 workers in March 2019.

There were 25 Temporary-work agencies registered to Directorate of Labour in March 2019.

These Temporary-work agencies hired out 949 workers in March 2019.

The unemployment forecast for April 2019:
It is expected that the unemployment in April 2019 will increase and be between 3,3% and 3,6%.
