Guidelines for Employment Grants - "Hefjum Störf"

The amounts of reimbursements and the type (subject) of remedies for labor market remedies are as follows:

It is important that the accounts are registered in the correct Remedy (Subject).


COMPANIES WITH FEWER THAN 70 EMPLOYEES:

  • A company that hires a jobseeker who has been registered as unemployed for at least 12 months, receives a grant amounting to a full monthly salary, up to 472.835 kr. per month plus an 11.5% counter-contribution to their pension fund for up to six months. The maximum payment can therefore be 527,211 kr.
  • Hiring a jobseeker means an increasing the number of employees, and the company has at least one employee on their payroll before hiring a jobseeker.
  • The company has no debt in regard to salary related fees and public fees, such as pension fund premiums, labour union fees and social insurance taxes.
  • The grant is paid in accordance with the employment ratio.

NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANISATIONS:

  • Non-governmental organisations (NGO), who operate as a charity and/or in humanitarian matters, are not operating for profit, and are exempt from tax obligations.
  • An NGO that hires a jobseeker who has been registered as unemployed for at least 12 months, receives a grant amounting to a full monthly salary, up to 472.835 kr. per month plus an 11.5% counter-contribution to their pension fund for up to six months. The maximum payment can therefore be 527,211 kr.
  • In addition, NGOs may receive a special grant amounting to up to 25% of the of the grant paid in each instance, to cover the costs of the NGOs involved in connection with the temporary initiatives in question.
  • Hiring a jobseeker means an increasing the number of employees, and the NGO has at least one employee on their payroll before hiring a jobseeker.
  • The NGO has no debt in regard to salary related fees and public fees, such as pension fund premiums, labour union fees and social insurance taxes.
  • The grant is paid in accordance with the employment ratio.

INSTITUTES AND MUNCIPALITIES:

  • Institutes and municipalities that hire a jobseeker who has been registered as unemployed for at least 12 months, receives a grant amounting to a full monthly salary, up to 472.835 kr. per month plus an 11.5% counter-contribution to their pension fund for up to six months. The maximum payment can therefore be 527,211 kr.
  • It is also possible to pay a grant for the employment of jobseekers who have fully exercised their right to benefits after the 1st of October 2020.
  • Hiring a jobseeker means an increasing the number of employees, and the institute or municipality has at least one employee on their payroll before hiring a jobseeker.
  • The institute or municipality has no debt in regard to salary related fees and public fees, such as pension fund premiums, labour union fees and social insurance taxes.
  • The grant is paid in accordance with the employment ratio.

RECRUITMENT GRANT:

  • All employers who wish to employ a jobseeker.
  • A company that hires a jobseeker who has been registered as unemployed for at least one month, receives a grant amounting to up to 307.430 kr. per month plus an 11.5% counter-contribution to their pension fund for up to six months. The maximum payment can therefore be 342.784 kr.
  • Hiring a jobseeker means an increasing the number of employees, and the company has at least one employee on their payroll before hiring a jobseeker.
  • The company has no debt in regard to salary related fees and public fees, such as pension fund premiums, labour union fees and social insurance taxes.

The grant is paid in accordance with the employment ratio


Guidelines for Employment Grants - "Hefjum Störf"

  1. Go to the website of the State Financial Management: https://www.fjs.is/
  2. Select Electronic Accounts (Rafrænir Reikningar)

3. Choose Send Invoice (Senda Reikning)

4. An electronic invoice will appear.

a. Seller (Seljandi)
The person responsible fills in information about the seller (company / institution / municipal / association) as applicable. It is important to fill in all the fields.

b. Buyer (Kaupandi)
Then select the Unemployment Insurance Fund (Atvinnuleysistryggingarsjóður) from the drop-down bar.

Due Date (Gjalddagi) : The due date of the invoice is entered here

Release date (Útgáfudagur reiknings) : The release date is entered here

Department (Deild) : Here you need to enter the correct type of an agreement.

1.       “Hefjum störf – Fyrirtæki” (Company)

2.       “Hefjum störf – Sveitarfélag” (Municipal)

3.       “Hefjum störf – félagasamtök” (institution/ association)

4.       “Hefjum störf – Ráðningarstyrkur” (Recruitment grant)

Contact name (Nafn tengiliðs) : The name of the contact who submits the account

5. Payment Information (Greiðslu upplýsingar) : Here you need to fill in bank information

Subject number (Vörunúmer): It is necessary to enter the correct subject number

If employers have more than one employee on the same subject it is possible to submit one invoice for all of them, however, employees on different subjects must separate these invoices.


Name (Heiti) : Salary for Jón Jónsson 2021 - 03
Quantity (Magn) : Percentage of jobs based on full-time multiplied by the number of months

Unit price (Ein.verð) : Reimbursement* amount for employees. The amount depends on the type of application at each time including the contribution and without VAT.

*The amount must be submitted with an 11.5% contribution to the pension fund, in the case of the Non-Governmental Association, the 25% grant must also be added. Failure to do so will result in rejection of the invoice and applicants will be asked to complete a new invoice.

6. In order to receive a payment, applicants must submit in attachment in a PDF form :

  • Pay slip
  • Confirmation of payment

If these attachments are not included or the invoice is not filled out correctly, we reserve the right to reject the invoice.
