The labour market in March 2018

Registered unemployment was 2,4% in March 2018 or the same as in February 2018 and the same as in March 2017.   There were in average 4.303 unemployed in March 2018 or up with 5 from February 2018.

Unemployment by gender:

The unemployment by men was 2,4% in March 2018, or the same as in February 2018.  The unemployment by women was 2,5% in March 2018 or the same as in February 2018.

The unemployment by young people:

There were 571 young, aged 18-24 years unemployed in March 2018 or down from 599 in February 2018.

The long term unemployed:

There were 915 long term unemployed (over 1 year) in March 2018, or down from 926 in february 2018.

Open vacancies:

There were 193 new incoming open vacancies in March 2018 or up from 102 new incoming open vacancies in February 2018.

Foreign workers:

There were in total 200 work permits (all types of work permits) issued in March 2018 but 198 in February 2018. There were 42 foreign service companies registered to Directorate of Labour in March 2018. These foreign service companies employed 320 workers in March 2018.

There were 29 Temporary-work agencies registered to Directorate of Labour in March 2018.

These Temporary-work agencies hired out 1.816 workers in March 2018.

The unemployment forecast for April 2018:

It is expected that the unemployment in April 2018 will decrease and be between 2,1% and 2,3%.
