The unemployment rate in December was 3,4% for men or up from 3,3% in November and 3,4% for women in December or the same as in November. 

The unemployment by young people:

There were 607 young, aged 18-24 years unemployed in December 2022 or up with 42 from November.

The long term unemployed:

There were 2.328 long term unemployed (over 1 year) in December 2022 or up with 42 from November.

Foreign workers:

There were 303 work permits (all types of work permits) issued in December 2022 or down from 379 in November.  There were 39 foreign service companies registered to Directorate of Labour in December 2022.  These foreign service companies employed 241 workers in December 2022.

There were 20 temporary-work agencies registered to Directorate of Labour in December 2022.

These temporary-work agencies hired out 626 workers in December 2022.

The unemployment forecast for January 2023:

It is expected that the unemployment in January 2023 will increase from December and be between 3,5% and 3,7%.
