Not participating in the labour market or working in a 25% employment ratio 

A maternity / paternity grant is divided into a grant for parents studying full-time and a grant for parents not participating in the labour market or in a part-time employment ratio below 25%, according to legislation on maternity/paternity leave and parental leave. 

“A parent residing in Iceland who is not participating in the labour market or in a part-time employment below 25% is entitled to a maternity / paternity grant”.
