The labour market in October 2017

Registered unemployment was 1,9% in October 2017 or up with 0,1 percent point from September 2017 and down with 0,1 percent point from October 2016.

There were in average 3.466 unemployed in October 2017 or up with 105 from September 2017.

Unemployment by gender:

The unemployment by men was 1,7% in October 2017, or up with 0,1 percent point from September 2017.  The unemployment by women was 2,2% in October 2017 or up from 2,1% in September 2017.

The unemployment by young people:

There were 407 young, aged 18-24 years unemployed in October 2017 or up from 377 in September 2017.

The long term unemployed:

There were 836 long term unemployed (over 1 year) in October 2017, or up with 17 from September 2017.

Open vacancies:

There were 150 new incoming open vacancies in October 2017, but in September 2017 there were 208 new incoming open vacancies.

Foreign workers:

There were in total 164 work permits (all types of work permits) issued in October 2017 but 200 in September 2017. There were 48 foreign service companies registered to Directorate of Labour in October 2017.

These foreign service companies employed 467 workers in October 2017.

There were 30 Temporary-work agencies registered to Directorate of Labour in October 2017.

These Temporary-work agencies hired out 2.032 workers in October 2017.

The unemployment forecast for November 2017:

It is expected that the unemployment in November 2017 will increase due to seasonal reasons and be between 2,0% and 2,2%.
