The labour market in July 2019

Registered unemployment was 3,4% in July 2019 or unchanged from June 2019 and up from 2,2% in July 2018. There were in average 6.831 unemployed in July 2019 or up with 108 from June 2019.

Unemployment by gender:

The unemployment by men was 3,3% in July 2019, or unchanged from June 2019.  The unemployment by women was 3,7% in July 2019 or up from 3,6% in June 2019.

The unemployment by young people:

There were 802 young, aged 18-24 years unemployed in July 2019 or up from 781 in June 2019.

The long term unemployed:

There were 1.291 long term unemployed (over 1 year) in July 2019, or up from 1.264 in June 2019.

Open vacancies:

There were 133 new incoming open vacancies in July 2019 or down from 151 new incoming open vacancies in June 2019.

Foreign workers:

There were in total 241 work permits (all types of work permits) issued in July 2019 or up from 173 in June 2019. There were 37 foreign service companies registered to Directorate of Labour in July 2019. These foreign service companies employed 238 workers in July 2019.

There were 24 Temporary-work agencies registered to Directorate of Labour in July 2019.

These Temporary-work agencies hired out 968 workers in July 2019.

The unemployment forecast for August 2019:

It is expected that the unemployment in August 2019 will be similar or increase a bit in August and be between 3,4% and 3,6%.
