The labour market in July 2021

The unemployment rate decreased from 7,4% in June to 6,1% in July.   

There were in average 11.968 unemployed in July 2021.

Unemployment by gender:

The unemployment rate in July was 5,8% for men and 6,5% for women, or down from 7,0% for men in June 2021 and 7,8% for women in June 2021.

The unemployment by young people:

There were 1.225 young, aged 18-24 years unemployed in July 2021 or down from 1.414 in June 2021.

The long term unemployed:

There were 5.361 long term unemployed (over 1 year) general unemployment in July 2021 or down from 5.818 in June 2021.

Open vacancies:

There were 1.123 new incoming open vacancies in July 2021 or down from 1.854 new incoming open vacancies in June 2021.

Foreign workers:

There were 240 work permits (all types of work permits) issued in July 2021 up from 197 issued work permits in June 2021.  There were 32 foreign service companies registered to Directorate of Labour in July 2021.  These foreign service companies employed 229 workers in July 2021.

There were 19 temporary-work agencies registered to Directorate of Labour in July 2021.

These temporary-work agencies hired out 388 workers in July 2021.

The unemployment forecast for August 2021:

It is expected that the unemployment in August 2021 will reduce and be between 5,3% and 5,7%.
